Challenges & Solutions
The hackathon featured five challenges addressing key social justice issues: from community engagement to educational outcomes. Teams created impactful solutions with tech and data analysis to improve equity.

Teams presented their projects, ranging from a volunteer matching platform to a healthcare analytics dashboard. Each project offered a unique and innovative approach to social justice.

Congratulations to the winning teams: Team Changer (Most Impactful), Team Bubble Data (Best Use of Tech), Team Mango Tart (Most Innovative), and Team AI-MD (Best Data).
Team Changer: Volunteer Matching Platform
Team Changer created a volunteer-matching platform aimed at connecting students with community engagement opportunities. The platform suggests volunteer activities based on user profiles and helps schedule activities.
Team AI-MD: Healthcare Analytics
Team AI-MD analyzed healthcare data to uncover patterns related to health equity. Using Excel and Tableau Public, they highlighted discrepancies in healthcare billing and patient demographics.
Team Bubble Data: Educational Outcome Prediction
Team Bubble Data focused on improving educational outcomes by identifying key factors for success. They developed a platform that visualizes these factors using interactive bubble charts.
Team Mango Tart: C.O.R.E Platform
Team Mango Tart developed C.O.R.E (Community-Opportunity-Resourcefulness-Engagement), a platform designed to increase community engagement and connect users with volunteer opportunities through a rewards system and feedback features.
